I recently posted my own blog about this on MySpace, but I did look through the portfolio of the work of Julie's company.
My question, however, as someone with a background in not only marketing, but also in commercial web design is this:
When you visit a band's website, does the design play into how you perceive the band?
The designs of the sites of Julie's company are very simplistic and the marketing ideas behind them are right on target. But as a designer/developer, I also feel that form and function should go hand in hand and that a band should use their website to brand themselves as well, not just in words, but in visuals. Most site users never really even read the text on sites, so the visuals are equally as important as the words, in my opinion.
I have signed up for the call, because I'd love to hear the functional and marketing points of view in this. But that's just my .02 here!
Thanks for the wonderful blog, Bob!
