Are You Breaking the Law?
And I noticed something that suddenly struck me as profound. You've probably noticed this too but didn't think much about it.
Let me explain ...

What the heck am I talking about?
Here's the thing: These are the laws that power everything. Gravity, the sun, weather systems, ocean currents, the rotation of the earth, even nuclear reactions. Those are some powerful laws!
Therefore, I believe if we behave in accordance with these laws, it only stands to reason that we'll live more natural and harmonious lives.
Okay, back to the bike ride and the big revelation ...
Whenever you reduce your speed on a bike, the slower you go, the more wobbly your balance becomes. The faster you go, the more stable the bike is.
I'm sure it has to do with inertia and the gyroscope effect -- all laws based on physics.
So if this is an irrefutable Law of Nature, how can we apply it to our lives?
That's simple: Keep moving on your quest! Keep moving forward with your music, your passion, your purpose as an artist, your pursuit of happiness. It's only through constant motion and progress that you gain your balance and hit a steady, confident stride.
Of course, you'll hit a few potholes along the way. There will be speed bumps that force you to shift direction. But that doesn't mean you have to stop moving.
And if you do slow down, get distracted or neglect your true calling for a while, things will get wobbly. You'll feel off balance.
And it's only natural. Because it's the Law at work.
So if things have been off kilter lately, ask yourself:
- How have I been slowing down my forward motion?
- What's been holding me back?
- And, most important, what can I do to get steadily back in motion?

Wow, I needed that right now. Thank you!
You hit the nail on the head! I always compare that to when you walk and you start to fall...if you walk forward a little faster most times you can catch yourself. So, "Walk Forward Fast" has been my inspirational quote!
I also see a spiritual side to your discussion about observations of the Laws of Nature and the Laws of Physics.
These laws didn't come into existence all by themselves from some random explosion billions and trillions of years ago.
I tap into this dimension and it definately effects physical laws and opportunities in regards to my music.

I ve never commented here before but this story makes all the sense in the world!!! Wow...1,000 times...
Good luck all.
Does this feel a confessional to anyone else? Rev. BuzzBaker? pfff. ;)
Love that analogy! thanks bob I needed to hear that too! :)
You are so right. Mind you I would rather be heading somewhere a bit slow than go nowhere fast! If we don't keep moving and honoring our art we stagnate, like so many people unfortunately do. Thanks Bob. The laws of nature affect us all the time as we are part of nature.
Applying the marketing you've taught us Bob we need a short powerful descriptor - how's this?
Our musical careers are like riding a bicycle - you can't stand still for long - and if you're not going forward you'll fall off!
its so weird you always seem to say stuff that I've been talking about lately with other people...
I ride a mountain bike and constantly see things in that to relate to my music career.
i believe one cannot keep stopping to think about what you're doing... once you make a decision to go a certain direction just keep going, dont keep questioning it, wondering if it was the right thing to do, ride forward, keep going till you get to your goals... then stop to think about the next step...
one must be patient too... give things time to grow... dont keep pulling the plant out by the roots to see how they are doing...

Nice, Bob!
Slainte!
An object in motion tends to stay in motion. An object at rest tends to stay at rest. A person doing something tends to get things done. A person at rest tends to sleep.
Bob, very good! I teach indies it is important to create and sustain momentum. I love the book "Good to Great." Ever read it?
great thinking bob, i love it. this comparison may well help me avoid dithering and to move swifter as from now. merci beaucoup, pandora.
Haha.. yea. that def. makes sense
you are truly inspirational.
