How to Promote Your Music on the Internet
WELCOME! Well, 2001 is almost gone for good. Considering all that's happened in the world since Sept. 11, lots of people are glad to start a new year with a clean slate. How about you? For many, January is a great time for goal setting and looking ahead to where you want to be a year from now. If you're in a resolution state of mind, be sure to look over the New Year's resolution resources listed later in this issue. Chris, a guitarist and Buzz Factor subscriber from Germany, sent this nice note: "I just wanted to tell you that the thoughts and prayers of many people around here are with the American people. That may not help anyone immediately, but maybe it'll lead to a more peaceful world and help people become more open-minded. Best wishes and a happy new year!" Here's another feel-good letter from a Buzz Factor patron named Brian: "I purchased your 'Guerrilla Music Marketing Handbook' about two years ago and have been putting your excellent advice to work ever since. It's really been paying off. I'm now able to support myself financially by doing game soundtrack contract work. I only have to work a few days a month, and then I devote the rest of my time to my band. We haven't made it big, but we have had some offers from labels, plus we've been getting some good exposure through licensing our music. I've gotten to the point where I absolutely love what I do for a living, and just being able to take my band as far as we can take it has given me a sense of living." Let's hope we all reach that enviable point (or enjoy more of it, if you're already there) in 2002. Have a safe and fun-filled New Year's Eve! -Bob P.S.
